CHRISTCHURCH MODEL YACHT CLUB

OPENING DAY PENNANT AUGUST 18 2001

This event was noted for the good nature displayed by all competitors.
Ian Scott sailed very well with his as yet unfinished yacht,(it needs painting), while it was good to see Rodney Beale sailing so well also. Hugh Hobden's yacht is well named because it can be seen no matter where it is in the fleet.
Many thanks to Peter Vincent who brough his dinghy along to set the course.
All in all it was a great day.

Word has it that Ian Scott was sailing a 10 rater at the home of model yachting in England and showed the locals how to do it. Heard from the spectators:-" Trust a Kiwi to come over and win our events."
